Hello & Welcome To My Blog

Hi, everyone! Welcome to the launch of The Glamorous Muse, my fresh website, and my first blog post. My name is Victoria Zaviiska and I am very excited to share with you my lifestyle.

Why I started my blog?

As a student of English language and literature, I always write and read a lot. It even started a long time before, as reading and writing was my biggest passion since I was a child. And the idea of having my blog came into my mind a long time ago. However, being busy with my study at first and work later, I couldn’t decide on many things, that’s why it was always postponed. And finally now, when I have a lot of free time, one of my goals comes true.

I have finally realized all the benefits that blogging can bring and have become completely consumed with inspiration to start a blog The Glamorous Muse.

From my point of view, it is fun and it is something I enjoy doing.

Blogging gives you freedom, nobody will tell you what to do, how to do it, and when to do it.

It’s a great way to express yourself, boost your confidence, and improve your writing and speaking skills.

And one of the best things is inspiring and sharing a piece of knowledge with others, meeting like-minded people. If my blog can help others in any way, I will be overjoyed with my work.

Anyone can start a blog. Very few people start a blog that matters.

What will you see in my posts?

I am currently taking a Fashion Journalist course, so I will be writing about the main topics you can see in fashion magazines or websites. But you will see much more of the face behind The Glamorous Muse (me), and a mixture of lifestyle including my favorite fashion finds, products, travel tips, healthy recipes, and other things.

After doing some research and seeing the posts of top bloggers, I have become consumed with motivation to write articles and share my insights with the help of The Glamorous Muse.

And last, but not least, English is not my first language, and I am not a writing expert, so please feel free to always share your advice and communicate with me en route.

You can get in touch with me on social media or through email from the Contact page.

I hope you enjoy my blog and please feel free to make any requests! 🙂

Top-7 Things To See In Cape Town, South Africa

Hi everyone, and welcome back to The Glamorous Muse! I hope you all are ready for the weekend, what are your plans? Tell me in the comments below. Recently I’ve been busy studying German language again. By the way, learning a new language is a great way to spend your free time.

Me at Boulders Beach

Today I’d like to share with you how I spent time in Cape Town, South Africa, and some things to do on the next visit. My first trip was in October 2019 and in February 2020 and it’s one of the travel destinations I love the most.

1. Visit The Constantia Wine Farms for wine tasting. It’s a beautiful green place to enjoy different kinds of wines from different grapes.

2. Climb up to the lighthouse for the best breathtaking views from The Cape of Good Hope.

3. Don’t forget to stop by Smitswinkel Bay to enjoy amazing landscapes.

4. Play with the African penguins at Boulders Beach.

5. The Victoria & Alfred Waterfront is a must-see place while in Cape Town with a lot of shops, restaurants, and the view of Table Mountains.

6. I’d love to take a cable car to the Table Mountains on my next visit.

7. And the brightly painted houses at the Bo-Kaap area (which means ‘above the Cape’ in Afrikaans language) are on my must-do list.

Those were my top-7 things to see in Cape Town, South Africa. I do hope to visit this amazing place one day again.

What I Loved In April 2021

A monthly series collecting several products, food, and amusement I’m currently enjoying.

The post might contain affiliate links.

Hello everyone and welcome back to The Glamorous Muse! The last month of the spring is already here, the weather is becoming so sunny and warm and we just had Eastern holidays in Ukraine which I spent with my lovely family.

Me with my sisters 🙂

April is always a special month for me as I celebrate my birthday on the 25th. This year it was a family celebration and I feel so happy to be surrounded by my close ones. My sister made for me a delicious cake and together with my mum, they made my favorite plant-based salads 🙂 I received a lot of love, care, and amazing wishes.

In April I finally finished reading bestseller ‘Sapiens. A Brief History of Humankind’ by Yuval Noah Harari, a book that is a must-read for everyone to understand who we are. I also began reading his other book ‘Homo Deus. A Brief History of Tomorrow’.

My beauty favorites were two mascaras which unfortunately finished, a sample of Dimensions De Chanel Mascara in 10 Noir and Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara by Essence which I bought several times already. Definitely recommend it, it makes your eyelashes super long and it’s also cruel free 🙂

I entertained myself watching Virgin River, Bridgertone, Keeping Up With The Kardashians series. I really love Kourtney and Kendall the most 🙂 Have you watched them? Which one is your favorite? I also watched some movies like Holiday In The Wild, Pride & Prejudice, The Notebook, The Walk and Flight. Have you watched any of these? Comment below!

As always, I bought some groceries for a plant-based lifestyle. I haven’t tried everything yet, but I loved the Oat milk with berries, Red hot blue corn tortilla chips, Strawberries dipped in dark chocolate, Kombucha green tea this month 🙂 And of course, I enjoyed the Easter cake, chocolates and horseradish 🙂

The order from iherb
Plant-based grocery shopping in the local online store

I did online shopping for my birthday, but unfortunately haven’t received the packages yet, so will tell you more about that in What I Loved In May 2021.

Those were all my April favorites. I hope you enjoyed reading the post and hopefully, you find something useful.

Top-10 Things That Will Make You Happier, Or How I Deal With Anxiety And Depression

Hello, my dear readers! I’m so happy to have you here! Welcome to The Glamorous Muse! I hope you all are doing great. Unfortunately, life is not always flawless. Sometimes I feel frustrated, anxious, devastated, or even depressed. This happened to me just a few days ago when I suddenly felt so sad. In this post, I’ve decided to share with you my favorite things that help me in such situations and definitely will make you happier too.

1. Good sleep is a necessity. You must sleep well to feel good. If you can make it 7-8 hours each day, it will be great for your health and well-being. Sometimes I sleep more if I need.

2. A good diet is important to feel good and to look good. Try to say ‘no’ to alcohol, caffeine, and sugar. I would also recommend to stop eating animal products and to learn more about vegan or plant-based lifestyle.

3. Exercise daily. It helps to raise the level of serotonin, which will help you feel happier all the time. I prefer to exercise in the morning, as it’s easier to make time and it really boosts my energy level. There are a lot of great workouts online, so no excuses 🙂 You can choose between fitness, Pilates, yoga, dancing, stretching, ballet or put on your favorite sneakers and go outside for a run or just walk. I love to play my favorite Latin music, and I also dance before I workout. Don’t forget to do some stretching before and after 🙂 You can take a contrast shower or relax in the bath with foam and candles 🙂

‘Just staying healthy, that is true wealth and true happiness.’ – Jon Jones

4. Visit a beauty salon or make it at home 🙂 I always feel so good after taking care of myself, it can be a scrubbing, massage, face mask, wrap (my favorite is with seaweed or cacao), manicure, pedicure.

5. Watch your favorite comedy or funny TV show and laugh a lot 🙂 It will surely help you to feel much better.

6. Spend time with your loved ones. It can be your sister, brother, cousin, parents, grandparents, friends or boyfriend, or children. I always sense a lot of love and happiness while being with my family or friends. It’s cool if they are near, if not, just video call or message them.

‘There is only one happiness in life, to love and be loved’ – George Sand.

7. Help others. Help your mum to carry heavy bags, cook dinner for your family, say kind words, greet people, smile at them, or just listen. Sometimes by listening to the problems of others, you forget your own.

8. Travel anywhere, even just to the closest city. You will see a different place, meet different people and have new adventures. It’s always nice to explore. Don’t be scared to go alone, but be mindful. You can get some inspiration by reading a post about my solo travel to Cuba. I also like arranging a trip to my dream destination, you will feel so inspired 🙂

9. Dream and visualize! Think about what you would like to do or how you would like to look and imagine it 🙂 Make up new goals and write them down, read them often, and believe it’s your reality.

10. Just do something! Put on makeup, do a new hairstyle, go shopping, do a photoshoot, spend time in nature, read a book or quotes, listen to motivational speech, find a new hobby, learn a new language, or how to play an instrument, make a new recipe, challenge yourself, spend time with animals, meet your friends, go together to a party, play some sports outside… There are so many things to do, be creative 🙂

‘You are the one that possesses the keys to your being. You carry the passport to your own happiness.’ – Diane von Furstenberg

Those were the top-10 things that make me happy, and hopefully, they will help you too 🙂

Thanks to everyone who reads and likes my posts, and big thanks for following The Glamorous Muse!😘

What To Do In Hong Kong

Last June I’ve got an incredible chance to visit Hong Kong. It was one of the most exciting trips in my life. I’ve met fantastic people and I discovered a new country with some terrific places. Hong Kong is one of the world’s wealthiest cities and everyone I’ve met spoke English so well. The Hong Kong Dollars are used in the country ( 1 USD = 7.77 HKD).

What I did in Hong Kong

Victoria Peak – a must-see place while in Hong Kong. It’s just beautiful. I got there by the Peak Tram (funicular railway). You can enjoy the amazing views from the window while going to the peak. I also enjoyed walking through the Victoria Peak Garden and the lovely sunset from there. P. S. Don’t forget to bring lotion from mosquitos if you are planning to stay till late there.

Victoria Harbour is a perfect place to enjoy the walk or run, or just sit and relax watching the sceneries of the city. You can take a boat if you need to reach the other side of the city as I did. Avenue of Stars is also there.

Take the Ngong Ping Cable Car to see The Big (or Tian Tan) Buddha, it was a mesmerizing experience, you can admire the amazing views from up, the blue water and green trees, so wonderful.

Madame Tussaud’s is a beautiful museum located on The Peak. Come and take some photos with your favorite celebrities as I did 🙂

Me with Vin Diesel at Madame Tussauds, Hong Kong

What I ate in Hong Kong

The best food I had was fresh fruits and berries. There are awesome sliced fresh fruits in a bowl, they are so delicious and made me super full. I think I never had so many fruits a day like in Hong Kong. And some vegan cheesecake which I’ve got from the supermarket. I also bought a lot of fresh fruits, vegetables and tea to take with me home. They are of great quality there. There are also a lot of Asian dishes, like sushi, maki rolls, and other dishes with rice. I also had a mango ice cream which is just frozen mango that I found near The Big Buddha.

My plant-based lunch at The Peak
Fried rice with vegetables
My favorite food

Where I stayed in Hong Kong

I’ve stayed in a beautiful modern Marriott hotel with incredible views, great spacious rooms, super comfortable beds, extremely clean, with a great lobby plus there is a shuttle bus to the mall and subway. The hotel stuff is extremely friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend the place.

Things to do for the next time

I really wish to visit the basketball court Choi Hung Estate, the exact location is 2 Tse Wai Ave, Ngau Chi Wan, Hong Kong and of course Hong Kong Disneyland. And I’d love to try vegan restaurants and can’t wait to shop there again 🙂

My Favorite Breakfast Recipe – Vegan Pancakes

Vegan Pancakes

Pancakes were the first food I ever cooked myself in childhood. They were not vegan at that time, however not less delicious. I remember they were with some pieces of apple. Since then I fell in love with it. After some years, I learned about healthy food and now I’m preparing not less delicious vegan pancakes for breakfast. There are plenty of pancake recipes, however, this one is my favorite and it is the easiest.

Ingredients (for one serving):

half of the ripped banana

oat or rice flour – 4 tbsp

1 tbsp of protein (you may skip this if you don’t train today, this is what I usually do)

less than 1/2 cup of plant-based milk (sometimes I add hot water)

cinnamon – 1tsp

coconut sugar – 1tsp (you may skip this too)

Mash banana with a fork, add protein, oat flour, cinnamon, coconut sugar, and milk. It should not be a very sick mass. I cook in olive oil. It will be approximately 4-5 pieces.

And now, the best thing comes. It’s time to add some filling to your pancakes. My favorite is some blueberry or blackberry jam, maple syrup, peanut butter, coconut manna, and coconut flakes on it. I love adding some fruits, nuts and a delicious breakfast is ready. Perfect for weekends, or whenever you would like to enjoy some sweet food. Make a cup of green tea with lemon, and you won’t need an extra dessert after this. It’s like a small cake for me 🙂 Bon appetite!

The Perfect White Vintage Shirt

Hello everyone! Welcome to The Glamorous Muse, a blog to inspire! Spring is getting warmer and brighter now and I want to show you one of my favorite looks and hopefully inspire you for some outfit ideas.
I love this combination of things and colors. A shirt combined with jeans makes a perfect classy look, especially a white shirt and blue jeans.

Let me tell you a little bit of a story about my blouse. I’ve got it from my mum, she used to wear it in early 00’s. I remember wearing it myself for the first time while at university, and you can also see how glamorous it looks today. I believe the white shirt is a piece of your wardrobe which is worth having a small collection of. It’s a valuable investment and elegant addition to every look of yours.

What I Loved In March 2021

A monthly series collecting several products, food, and amusement I’m currently enjoying.

Welcome to The Glamorous Muse! I hope you are doing great. In this post, I’d like to share with you all the things I loved during the past 31 days of March 2021. It’s been my first month since I finally started blogging. I have so many ideas I can’t wait to share them with you. Which topics did you enjoy most? And what would you like to read about? Comment below, I’m looking forward to getting to know your interests more.

I’d like to start a series of posts that will be coming every month about my monthly favorites. So, let’s begin.

All mentioned products I bought for my own money or received as a gift from my loved ones. Some products may contain affiliate links.

1. First thing I’d love to share is my favorite dessert – dark chocolate with raspberries:

Endangered Species Chocolate Tart Raspberries + Dark Chocolate, Chocolove Raspberries in Dark Chocolate

Look what a beautiful poem I found inside The Chocolove:

This one is so smoothly delicious, definitely worth its price:

Get Back To Human Cashew Butter + Pure Vanilla Bean Dark Chocolate, Get Back To Human Almond Butter + Puffed Quinoa Dark Chocolate.
Plus, I’ve got as a gift super delicious Millenium Orange Dark Chocolate 74%. This is the best I’ve tried so far.

I used to try all the chocolates before, except the one with orange, it was an awesome new dessert I loved a lot too. And I’m surely gonna buy it again. If you are a chocolate lover, you will like it. It is suitable for vegans too.

2. From the beauty and care products, I’ve finally got The Ordinary Retinol 0.2% in Squalane. It’s a great skincare product, which helps to better your skin texture. It is recommended to use retinol when you have acne or need to get rid of wrinkles. I’m using it once a week in the evening. After cleansing and toning my face, I wait for 30 min before applying it. You shouldn’t use any other retinoid products this day and next morning don’t forget about sunscreen. You will see improvements after using it for few months. I’m gonna give it a try.

3. Also, I love my new Mild By Nature Citrus Squeeze Thickening Shampoo. It’s cleansing my hair very well with great foaming from a very small amount and it has a nice citrus smell. What else do you need from shampoo? I pair it with Desert Essence Red Raspberry Conditioner or Earth Science Oil and Avocado Hair Masque, my last favorites.

4. As I’m a fan of tan, and now I can’t sunbathe, I’m using a Caribbean Solutions Natural Self Tanner and I love it. You’re getting a beautiful even tan without any burnt skin smell 🙂

5. This month I didn’t do much shopping, but I’ve got beautiful vintage shoes from my mum which I adore right now. They are extremely comfortable and will be a great addition to my spring outfits.

6. Another food item I’d love to share is chickpeas. I’ve tried it before but never cooked it myself. It’s super easy to prepare, you just soak it in water overnight and then boil it for 50 min – 1 hour. It’s a great addition to your menu if you are trying to eat healthily, and you will love it if you’re keeping to a plant-based diet. The best addition to a salad or pasta.

7. Learning a language has always been my hobby. I began learning Spanish a few years ago, but I never gave it enough time. Since last April I’ve been studying it almost every day. This month, after finishing the Duolingo course which I highly recommend, I began reading and translating a book (remembering my past days at University). I’ve chosen ‘Bodas de Odio’ by Caridad Bravo Adams after I watched the telenovela ‘Amor real’. I like the book a lot, however, I’m still on the first chapter 🙂 Also, I read Jane Austen’s ‘Pride and Prejudice’ to improve my English.

8. Let’s continue with books. This month I’ve finished reading ‘Red Pill’ and ‘Red Pill – 2’ by Andrey Kurpatov. Both are written in Russian. I would recommend them if you like to know how to live another-better-life. “Red Pill – 2” is about success, all the truth about it. Like a Chinese proverb says: “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now”. There are no easy ways. Only a difficult path gives a chance to get something truly valuable. The world gives the best to those who are willing to pay the proper price for it, in full. This is a book about the need of your life for you.

9. I entertained myself watching an American comedy-drama The Flight Attendant (8 series), Gone Girl, and I finally watched 2 seasons of Narcos about Pablo Escobar. I rewatched Fast & Furious and Too Hot To Handle. Emily in Paris is a beautiful, easy-to-watch series which I enjoyed a lot.

Those were all my March favorites. I hope you enjoyed reading the post and hopefully, you find something useful.
