Hello & Welcome To My Blog

Victoria

Hi, everyone! Welcome to the launch of The Glamorous Muse, my fresh website, and my first blog post. My name is Victoria Zaviiska and I am very excited to share with you my lifestyle.

Why I started my blog?

As a student of English language and literature, I always write and read a lot. It even started a long time before, as reading and writing was my biggest passion since I was a child. And the idea of having my blog came into my mind a long time ago. However, being busy with my study at first and work later, I couldn’t decide on many things, that’s why it was always postponed. And finally now, when I have a lot of free time, one of my goals comes true.

I have finally realized all the benefits that blogging can bring and have become completely consumed with inspiration to start a blog The Glamorous Muse.

From my point of view, it is fun and it is something I enjoy doing.

Blogging gives you freedom, nobody will tell you what to do, how to do it, and when to do it.

It’s a great way to express yourself, boost your confidence, and improve your writing and speaking skills.

And one of the best things is inspiring and sharing a piece of knowledge with others, meeting like-minded people. If my blog can help others in any way, I will be overjoyed with my work.

Anyone can start a blog. Very few people start a blog that matters.

Victoria

What will you see in my posts?

I am currently taking a Fashion Journalist course, so I will be writing about the main topics you can see in fashion magazines or websites. But you will see much more of the face behind The Glamorous Muse (me), and a mixture of lifestyle including my favorite fashion finds, products, travel tips, healthy recipes, and other things.

After doing some research and seeing the posts of top bloggers, I have become consumed with motivation to write articles and share my insights with the help of The Glamorous Muse.

And last, but not least, English is not my first language, and I am not a writing expert, so please feel free to always share your advice and communicate with me en route.

You can get in touch with me on social media or through email from the Contact page.

I hope you enjoy my blog and please feel free to make any requests! 🙂

Victoria

Sincerely,

Victoria

What I Loved In July and August 2021

A monthly series collecting several products, food, and amusement I’m currently enjoying.

Some products may contain affiliate links.

Hey there! I’ve been away from blogging for few weeks and I’m so glad to be back now. So, let’s start again with what I love in July and August 2021. For the last summer months, I was trying to spend more time with my close ones, I finally arranged my closet, I gave away some clothes and things I haven’t used and I feel so good by freeing some extra space for the new items. I also got vaccinated and received my certificate 🙂

The last months of summer I watched some movies: ‘Harry Potter and Philosopher’s Stone’, ‘James Bond The Living Daylights’, ‘Mr. Bean’s Holiday’, ‘The Hangover’, ‘The Secret’ and ‘EuroTrip’.

From food, I really love sunflower seed milk which I recently tried, and tofu with different flavors, my favorite ones are with mushrooms and seaweed 🙂 I bought them all on vegetus.ua. I finally prepared scrambled tofu and vegan apple pie 🙂

From the beauty products, I tried 5 Minute Speed Whitening Gel and Hair ResQ Thickening Shampoo Anti-Dandruff. I really love the whitening gel, but it requires constant usage and after some time it makes my teeth more sensitive when I’m applying it. About shampoo, it cleans the hair well, however, my favorite one is still Mild By Nature Thickening B-Complex + Biotin Shampoo by Madre Labs, No Sulfates, Citrus Squeeze.

I’ve read ‘Make Every Man Want You’ by Marie Forleo and ‘Mars And Venus On A Date’ by John Gray. I also listened to some lectures from Standford University ‘Biology of Human Behavior’ by Robert Sapolsky.

WHAT DID YOU LOVE THIS MONTHS?

Best Things To Do In Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine

Ivano-Frankivsk is a beautiful city in Western Ukraine. I used to live there while at university. It’s not a big one but it’s absolutely fascinating. I make my favorite list of places to go, eat and stay. If you occur to be visiting Ivano-Frankivsk, make sure to look into my blog post 🙂

What to Do:

  • Town Lake (Mis’ke Ozero in Ukrainian) is my best place to walk, run, have a picnic, or even get some tan during hot summer days. There is a beautiful small Island of Love connected by a bridge on the lake. It’s pleasant and peaceful territory.
  • Shevchenko City Park is a nice green area for a long walk and run, or just sit and relax. It has an amusement park too.
  • Walk in Market Square (Ploshcha Rynok in Ukrainian), the central square of the city.
  • Go up to the viewing deck on Ratusha, the city’s most outstanding building (49.5 m high) to get nice views of the surrounding Old City. It also has a small museum inside.
  • Visit Stometrivka – a favorite resting spot of citizens and visitors as the real life of the city is raging on this street. Located in the heart of Ivano-Frankivsk on Independence Street (Nezalezhnosti Vulytsia in Ukrainian). It’s also the main shopping promenade with a lot of shops and restaurants gathered around.
  • Visit the beautiful churches: Cathedral of the Holy Virgin in a traditional Russian Orthodox style with lots of traditional work, The Holy Resurrection Cathedral with a lot of bright colorful frescos inside. Both churches are located in the center of the city. Roman Catholic Parish Church of Christ The King is a remarkable building located in Vovchynetska Street.
  • Precarpathian Museum of Arts has an interesting collection of art and is located in Sheptitskiy Square.
  • Vovchynets Hill is a new beautiful area with a nice view of the city, great for those who like hiking. There is a place to sit and rest afterward.
  • Visit the largest ski resort Bukovel located in the Carpathian Mountains.

All the places mentioned above are pretty easy to reach by walking, except for the last two. You will need to arrange transportation to go there.

Where to Eat:

  • I highly recommend trying Ukrainian traditional restaurants, one of my favorites is Khata Bahata
  • Legenda Restaurant in Market Square (Ploshcha Rynok) with beautiful views of Ratusha and downtown.
  • Manufactura
  • Vegano Hooligano
  • Mondays Cafe & Store
  • Passage Gartenberg
  • Mafia

Where to Stay:

  • Fontush Boutique Hotel at Chornovola Street near Shevchenko Park
  • Reikartz Park Hotel in the Town Lake area
  • Nadiya Hotel located in the heart of the city

I’d love to know about your experience if you are going to stop in Ivano-Frankivsk or have ever been there 🙂

A Formula For All Summer Salads

I could eat this every lunch or dinner, and never get unhappy. It’s so easy to prepare, I don’t even need a recipe for it. Here’s how I make it:

Start with a mix of greens, such as spinach, lettuce, arugula, green onions, parsley, and/or cabbage.

Add raw and grilled vegetables. I like adding tomato, avocado, onion, cucumber, radish, corn, zucchini and/or eggplant.

Then add some protein – as on a plant-based diet, I prefer some grilled tofu or chickpeas.

And now the important ingredient – dressing. Here is my favorite one which is really flavorful: 1 tbsp of olive oil, 1 tbsp or less of vinegar, lemon juice, a pinch of salt and pepper.

Place everything in a large bowl and mix it together. Taste and adjust salt and pepper.

I like having some baked potatoes, rice, lentil or buckwheat with it for a complete meal. Enjoy!

What I Loved In June 2021

A monthly series collecting several products, food, and amusement I’m currently enjoying.

Some products may contain affiliate links.

Hello everyone! Summertime is finally here, and I can’t believe that the first month of it just came to the end. I really admire the warm summer days. And this June was a very special month for me.

From books, I read ‘21 Lessons for the 21st Century’ by the author of the million copy bestseller ‘Sapiens’ Yuval Noah Harari. It takes us on a thrilling journey through today’s most urgent issues.

I didn’t watch a lot of movies, but I watch Focus, a 2015 American crime comedy-drama film starring Will Smith and Margot Robbie.

Talking about food, this month I tried Organic Cashew Nut Butter which is really delicious if you like cashews. I eat it with my crackers and some banana and strawberries. As I traveled quite frequently, I was always buying fresh plant-based salad, some fruits, and preparing a vegan sandwich with brown bread, vegetables, and tofu. It helped me to avoid hunger and stay healthy 🙂 Read my recent post How I Keep It Clean When Eating Out. Also I tried a new salad with boiled beets, arugula, walnuts, and delicious sauce. Will try to prepare it someday 🙂

From my beauty products, I really love my new face tools The Jade Gua Sha Tool, Natural Jade Stone Facial Roller, and Microneedling Derma Roller System. Gua Sha promotes blood circulation, improves fine lines and wrinkles, promotes lymphatic drainage, and relieves tension from muscles, it’s a great tool to sculpt your face. Jade Stone Roller helps to brighten your complexion and reduce puffiness as it is cool. For a cool feeling, I prefer to keep both of the tools in the fridge for few minutes before using them. Microneedling helps to increase collagen production, skin appears more voluminous and plump. I also purchased Advanced Clinicals Vitamin C Serum with soothing Aloe Vera and Ferulic Acid. It brightens the complexion and creates a more even-looking tone, supports a luminous, youthful radiance. And I love my Palmer’s Coconut Oil Formula with Vitamin E Body Lotion which I often buy. I started using my new Acure Radically Rejuvenating Facial Scrub with Moroccan Red Clay & Rose Oil which helps to refresh and exfoliate my skin and it is really soft to it.

From clothes, I’ve got 2 swimsuits and crochet knitted beach pants which I have wanted to buy since last year.

I was exploring the Ivano-Frankivsk city with my friend and soon will prepare the post about what to do while there. I finally went to the theatre and enjoyed the play a lot.

Those were all my June favorites. I hope you enjoyed reading the post and hopefully, you find something useful.

How I Keep It Clean When Eating Out

I like eating out, especially while traveling or meeting my friends. It is always good to choose healthy restaurants, however, there are always healthful options everywhere. And it’s pretty easy to stay fit and feel great if you make the right choices.

First, always have some clean water before you eat. Make sure that your meal has some fruits if it’s breakfast or plenty of vegetables if it’s lunch or dinner. For desserts, try some plant-based selections or fruits. You can have regular dessert too, but don’t forget about green tea with lemon 🍋 with it.

Second, try to avoid alcohol, but if it’s your night out or any kind of celebration, eat well before drinking. And again, don’t forget about water afterward.

Third, if you are out for a travel, ensure to bring some water and snacks with you as you never know if there are any healthy options available.

And last, enjoy your meal as much as you can even if it’s not the healthiest you can have. You can balance it afterward. We live once, so let’s count memories, not calories 😉

The Top Essentials For Summer

Everyone loves the sun but not everyone knows how it can affect our skin and our wellbeing, especially during hot days. In this post I’ll share my top essentials which help me feel great during summertime.

1. Stay hydrated. Our bodies consist of up to 78% of water, and during sunny days we lose it a lot easier, so don’t forget to drink some more than you usually do. I always bring a bottle of cold water whenever I leave my house. Try to drink minimum 2 litres of clear water per day.

2. Eat more fruits and vegetables and less heavy fast food. There are plenty of fruits 🍑🍓🥑🍏🍎🍐🍊🍇🍉🍌🍋🥭🍒🍈🍍🥥🥝and vegetables 🍅🍆🥦🌽🌶🥒🥬🥕🍠🧅🥔🧄 in the summer. Try to eat it as much as you can, prepare some fresh smoothies and salads. You will feel and look great 😉

3. Try contrast shower. It feels great on my body and summertime is the perfect time to start if you haven’t tried it yet.

4. Use moisturizer. Don’t forget to moisturize your skin before you go out. Apply any lotion with SPF before you sunbathe or if you plan to stay outside during the daytime. It’s not only about the face, don’t forget about your whole body as well. But don’t overuse it, a lot of creams together can cause sun allergy. I’m trying to use only SPF on my face, no foundation during the day unless I don’t have some special occasion and I’m applying SPF on open parts of my body too. My favorite SPF is SPF 30 Facial Serum by Andalou Naturals. Don’t forget to protect your lips too. I use Moisturizing Sunscreen Lip Balm SPF 25. And for my body, I love using Amazing Maui Babe Browning Lotion.

5. Spend more time outdoors. Wake up earlier and go for a walk or run before the day begins or do it in the evenings when the sun is down. Stay outside as much as you possibly can. Fresh air will make you feel amazing.

6. Wear comfortable cotton clothes in the summer. Your skin wants to breathe too, so let’s make it easier by wearing cotton and different natural fabric clothes. Always remember to protect your face and head by wearing a cap or a hat.

WHAT ARE YOUR SUMMER ESSENTIALS?
